The newly developed Cine Autocollimator WaveBench is a modular system developed for the film camera rental industry for innovative testing of camera lenses and film cameras. Through the use of the integrated ELCOMAT® Autocollimator wave succeeds in the transformation from analog to digital inspection of lenses. With the cine autocollimator from Möller-Wedel Optical, the focus position can now be determined with up to four apertures instead of two. This extends the test spectrum from one-dimensional to two-dimensional focus position determination (horizontal and vertical). For the first time, the objective measurement method can be used to test with high precision the far more stringent requirements of modern high-tech lenses for generating a precisely calculated look. This is unique in this field so far. The measurement setup can reproduce a specific bokeh of old classics in a defined way… With the new WaveBench, astigmatism and coma of isotropic lenses as a result of misalignment and decentration can now also be qualitatively recorded, documented and, if necessary, corrected. In addition, anamorphic lenses can be checked for astigmatism and coma, which is a great advantage especially for camera service and testing. With the LED illumination of the integrated autocollimator, chromatic aberrations in red, green, blue and white can also be examined. Adjustable focus allows the distance setting to be tested from “infinity” to “close”. The integrated measuring sensors eliminate the need for a separate distance measuring device and allow finite distances to be set with millimeter accuracy. With the new MTF test cassette and the associated software module, the MTF of the lenses to be tested can be measured. The MTF curves can be logged and stored in the database, as can all other results.
